About Cosfen Vaginal Cream
FENTICONAZOLE belongs to the class of medicines called 'antifungal' used to treat a broad range of infections caused due to fungi and yeast. It is used to treat various fungal or yeast infections such as vulvovaginal candidiasis (A yeast infection of the vagina and tissues at the opening of the vagina (vulva)). Besides this, FENTICONAZOLE is also used to prevent or treat fungal skin infections. vulvovaginal candidiasis is a fungal infection that causes irritation, discharge, and intense itchiness of the vagina and the vulva tissues at the vaginal opening.
FENTICONAZOLE contains Fenticonazole an antifungal that works by causing holes in the fungal cell membranes thereby killing the fungi. Thus, FENTICONAZOLE can inhibit fungal growth and reduce the infection. . It is active against a range of organisms including dermatophyte pathogens, Malassezia furfur, and Candida albicans.
Take FENTICONAZOLE as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor will decide what dose should be taken based on your health condition. You may experience a vaginal burning sensation, itching, or irritation in some cases. The side effects of FENTICONAZOLE do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
If you are known to be allergic to FENTICONAZOLE or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using FENTICONAZOLE. Do not use FENTICONAZOLE in more than prescribed doses, or for a prolonged time as it may cause adverse effects. Do not swallow FENTICONAZOLE. In case of accidental swallowing, contact a nearby poison control center or consult a doctor immediately. Avoid taking FENTICONAZOLE if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by a doctor. Do not start treatment with FENTICONAZOLE during menstruation as the FENTICONAZOLE will be washed off with blood flow.

FENTICONAZOLE contains Fenticonazole that works by killing the fungus/yeast and preventing its growth by inhibiting the fungal cell membrane formation. It is used to treat various fungal or yeast infections such as vulvovaginal candidiasis (a yeast infection of the vagina and tissues at the opening of the vagina (vulva)). Besides this, FENTICONAZOLE is also used to prevent or treat fungal skin infections. FENTICONAZOLE also exhibits broad-spectrum antibacterial action that includes bacteria commonly associated with superinfected fungal skin and vaginal infections and antiparasitic action against the protozoan Trichomonas vaginalis. Therefore, FENTICONAZOLE may be an ideal and first-line monotherapy for vulvovaginal infection and a topical alternative to multi-agent treatment of mixed infections involving mycotic, bacterial, dermatophyte, and Trichomonas spp.
Directions for Use
FENTICONAZOLE is available in topical (skin use) cream, vaginal cream, and vaginal capsules form. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using FENTICONAZOLE vaginal cream or capsules. FENTICONAZOLE is to be inserted into the vagina only. FENTICONAZOLE vaginal capsules should be inserted into the vagina. FENTICONAZOLE vaginal cream is inserted into the vagina using the applicator provided with the cream. Based on your medical condition your doctor will decide what dose should be taken. Use the medicine as recommended by your doctor. Do not take more than the recommended dose or do not abruptly stop the medication without the doctor’s advice. Fenticonazole should be used strictly as per the doctor’s advice. Consult your doctor in case you have any confusion regarding the medicine, if your condition worsens or if there is no improvement. Topical use: Clean and dry the affected area. Then, apply a thin layer of the medicine to the affected area. Wash your hands before and after use. Use the medicine as recommended by your doctor. Do not take more than the recommended dose or do not abruptly stop the medication without the doctor’s advice. Do not apply to broken skin or open wounds. Do not apply this medication to the eyes. If the medication gets accidentally into the eyes, rinse with water thoroughly.

Drug Warnings
If you are known to be allergic to FENTICONAZOLE or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using FENTICONAZOLE. Do not start treatment with FENTICONAZOLE during menstruation as the FENTICONAZOLE will be washed off with blood flow. The treatment should be finished before the onset of menstruation. Do not use tampons, vaginal douches, spermicide, or other vaginal products while using FENTICONAZOLE. This medicine may damage the latex of condoms and diaphragms; hence these types of contraception are also not effective during treatment with FENTICONAZOLE. Hence, alternative methods of contraception or abstinence from sexual intercourse are recommended. Avoid contact with your eyes. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Do not apply FENTICONAZOLE on open wounds, cuts, scrapes, or damaged skin. Do not swallow FENTICONAZOLE. In case of accidental swallowing, contact a nearby poison control center or consult a doctor immediately.

Safety Advice
ALCOHOL
The interaction of FENTICONAZOLE with alcohol is unknown. Please consult a doctor before consuming alcohol while using FENTICONAZOLE.
PREGNANCY
The safety of FENTICONAZOLE in pregnant women is unknown. Therefore, it is given to pregnant women only if the doctor thinks the benefits outweigh the risks.
BREAST FEEDING
It is unknown whether FENTICONAZOLE is excreted in human milk. It is given to breastfeeding mothers only if the doctor thinks the benefits are greater than the risks. Do not breastfeed your baby if you have applied FENTICONAZOLE on your breast or nipple.
DRIVING
FENTICONAZOLE does not affect your ability to drive.
LIVER
FENTICONAZOLE can be used in patients with liver diseases only when prescribed by a doctor.
KIDNEY
FENTICONAZOLE can be given to patients with kidney problems only when prescribed by a doctor.
